HP said:
The sensing infrastructure creates a high-resolution view of devices throughout the data centre and can provide historical data related to additions, changes and moves of servers and server-related equipment.
The system has already been tested at meijer which is a grocery chain having around two hundred stores. This is the first real time automatic asset tracking solution for the data center. The company is regarding RFID as a major technology for manufacturers and retailers as it not only reduces the supply chain costs but also speeds up the flow of merchandize.
RFID is evolving and when stalwarts of the corporate world show confidence in it, this certainly predicts good times for the technology ahead.

The market for supply-chain applications of RFID technology made progress in the last year, and i continue to believe that it will become a multibillion-dollar growth opportunity in coming years, although it is still in its infancy.
