Golf Made Easier With RFID
Filed in archive Sports on May 28, 2006
This is boon for me and fellow golfers. Whenever I go out to play golf the biggest problem I face is searching for the balls because my shots always go haywire. I probably think that keeping in mind players like me a company has come up with golf balls embedded with RFID chips. These balls from RadarGolf help in tracking the balls when they get lost while playing. Not only does it saves money but also speeds up the game. A handheld device can help in tracking these RFID balls within a range of ten to thirty meters. The receiver has a LCD screen and a pulsing audio tone which would guide to the lost ball.
The system can be availed online and it would cost you a few hundred dollars but would certainly make your game easy.

This will never work. The golf ball is simply too small an object to house an antenna large enough for the needed range (more than 10 meters).
