G2 Microsystems SoC- Ultra Low Cost Deployment RFID Solution
G2 Microsystems has come up with an RFID solution that would result in at least a 75 percent reduction in the total cost of ownership. It is an ultra low power active RFID System on a Chip (SoC) which leverages the widely deployed Wi-Fi network infrastructure.

By making use of the existing infrastructure, SoC enables businesses to install Asset Trackinglinks system at a fraction of the cost of the current solutions resulting in the reduction of the total cost of ownership.

According to Marcus Torchia, Senior Analyst, G2

G2 Microsystems' SoC tag has all the correct elements to help drive down the cost of RTLS solutions so that more businesses can benefit from tracking and monitoring assets across their supply chain.

This is what the industry was looking - an ultra low cost deployment RFID solution. By combining both RFID and Wi-Fi, SoC has opened an inexpensive route for entry into the RFID tracking world for business which by now had snubbed it due to high integration costs.
