First glimpse of CES 2008 RFID badge

Filed in archive Special Events by gautam on November 2, 2007

A few months back I had told you all that RFID will accompany you at the International ces 2008links which is regarded as one of the fanciest consumer electronics trade shows on earth. For this year event RFID tags are being embedded in the registration badge and though I will not be able to make to the event but my friends at engadget have received their badges and tickets for the event and I would like you to have a glimpse of those. In normal circumstances the envelope would have been tucked inside some dark corners of the closet until the date of the event but since this time the badges are RFID tagged they have made it a point to give them special attention.

You will notice that the tags fixed at the back of the badge are no thicker than the badge itself and the circuitry has been printed on an identical piece of card stock. Looks like RFID will be a regular feature at the CES from now on.
