Devices in Korea to get mobile RFID code

Come October and a number of devices available in the market in Korea will come along with a mobile RFID code. This is being regarded as something sort of first in the world. Three types of mobile RFID codes are being unveiled. The first one is mCode which is interoperable with ISO standards, the second code developed is micro-mCode for acceptance pf two dimensional bar codes and the third of the lot is mini mCode for mobile RFID pilot service.

A public hearing was conducted by The National Internet Development Agency regarding guidelines for establishing mobile RFID services and management measures for mobile RFID codes. The website www.mcode.kr will be unveiled by the end of this month and before October formal registration will be conducted and temporary mobile RFID codes will be issued.
