CSI replaced by RFID?

Have you seen any of the CSI television shows? You know the ones -- where there is a crime, and the CSIs (crime scene investigators) come in and solve the crime by finding minute bits of evidence at the scene.

Well, if one company has its way, those CSIs might just have a little less to do.

Go to this website: RFID2VIN.com. The site owner is proposing that each car in the U.S. be outfitted with RFID chips. The chips would be assigned a unique code, and every motor vehicle registered would have the tiny RFID chips placed on a "tray" attached somewhere on the vehicle.

In the event of an accident, the chips would be dislodged and remain at the scene. The chips would be so tiny that it would be impractical for a hit and run driver to try to collect them all before fleeing.

This is not an actual product yet, and a patent is pending. Interesting concept.
