Comp TIA Creates RFID Initiative

Filed in archive RFID Basics by Anita Campbell on May 10, 2004

There's been a lot of emphasis on the use of RFID to tag and track consumer goods.

Now the IT and communicationslinks technology industry is stepping into the fray, to understand what RFID will mean for electronic goods. For instance, there are problems with placing RFID tags on such goods.

The Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA) today launched an RFID initiative.

The initiative will help the information technology and communications industry understand and deal with RFID technology, including helping establish standards for RFID in electronic goods.

In addition, CompTIA intends to address the use of RFID in the IT supply chain and provide ongoing education and training for resellers and IT solutions providers.
