In one of my previous posts I talked about the virus scare Hauntinglinks RFID technology. After racking my brains for quite some time I found out some facts about RFID:

Since RFID tags are just storage medium and have a small capacity of about 128 bits, so we cannot say they are infected rather they just hold the code.

Secondly it is not should not be a source of concern for the common people as it would not affect their computers, although it has set alarm bells ringing for shipping and warehouses that would be actively deploying RFID tags.

Lastly it doesn't seem like a technological breakthrough on the first count as viruses tend to exploit vulnerabilities in order to self replicate on a frequent basis. The only addition seems to be the RFID tags which are being used as a storage and distribution medium.

I sincerely hope that the RFID virus scare subsides down quickly
