Buying Medicine or Getting a Spy Home?
RFID tags have come of age now and have reduced to half the size of a grain of sand. As per the FDA regulation GSK has started to tag its medicines for HIV treatment. Trizvir is the drug that Glaxo SmithKline manufacturers. It has know been found that tagging of such medicines can arise questions relating to privacy.

It has been found that most tags remain functional even after they have been sold and taken home by the customer. This is possible as most RFID tags do not have batteries and use the power from the initial radio signal. This raises concerns of surveillance. Generally RFID tags are meant for short ranges but by using a high gain antenna the data from the tags can be accessed. It looks like the even the social network of the person can be tracked through the use of RFID on products that are given away or resold.
