3M to tag U.S Tax Courts
Filed in archive Companies on July 9, 2006
The U.S tax court has installed a 3M radio Frequency Identification Tracking System. This system will help the court manage 100,000 case files. The same system will help track periodicals, documents and library books.
The department of justice was the first federal entity to make use of RFID technology. They had a contract with General Services Administration, which allowed the federal agencies to use the system for 5 years at the lowest possible price. RFID is also being made use of by some district attorneys' offices and even law firms.
It is pleasing to see RFID technology gaining recognition as a cost efficient solution to the mounting complexity of physical record keeping.
